According to the Oxford Handbook of Corporate Social   Responsibility, CSR is “best understood not as a concept, a construct, or a theory, but as a field of scholarship”. This handbook provides an excellent and thorough introduction to the subject. The Brock University Library has this title in print (Call No: HD 60 O94 2008) and online  formats.

Readers looking for a dictionary-style  introduction to the topic should refer to The A-Z of Corporate Social Responsibility, 2nd Edition which was published by Wiley in 2010. It features definitions and overviews of topics, institutions, codes, and guidelines of relevance to CSR, sustainability, business ethics and other related issues. You’ll find this book in the Brock Library on the 9th floor at Call No: HD 60 A225 2010.
